FYEX-401-06 Senior Experience Nursing
FYEX-401-06 Senior Experience Nursing was designed to help students transition from nursing school to professional practice. This course placed a strong emphasis on job searching, resume building, and preparing for the transition into the workforce. Throughout the semester, I engaged in activities that refined my professional skills, including crafting cover letters, preparing for interviews, and exploring career opportunities within various healthcare settings. Additionally, a major focus of the course was the creation of a final portfolio, showcasing the knowledge, skills, and experiences I have gained throughout my time at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
For my final project, I developed a comprehensive e-portfolio that reflects my growth as a nursing student and my readiness to enter the profession. This portfolio includes my clinical experiences, leadership roles, volunteer work, and professional development, serving as a representation of my dedication to patient care and lifelong learning. Alongside my portfolio, I also completed a Senior Experience Reflection Essay, which provided me with the opportunity to thoughtfully examine my journey through nursing school, the challenges I have overcome, and the lessons that will shape my future as a nurse. This project was an incredibly meaningful way to conclude my undergraduate education, as it allowed me to see how far I have come and solidify my aspirations for my career as a nurse practitioner.
